เรื่องราวของหลินซีนักโบราณคดีหญิงที่เริ่มสำรวจทิเบตเพื่อทำตามความปรารถนาสุดท้ายของพ่อเธอและเติมเต็มช่องว่างทางโบราณคดี จากเบาะแสต่าง ๆ ทำให้พบซากปรักหักพังโบราณของกษัตริย์เกซาร์และพยายามพิสูจน์การมีอยู่ของโบราณสถานแห่งนี้ แต่ทว่าองค์กรขโมยสมบัติก็ต้องการเคลื่อนย้ายอาวุธชิ้นหนึ่งที่ตกทอดมา และทั้งสองฝ่ายได้เปิดการเผชิญหน้ากันระหว่างความดีและความชั่ว ท้ายที่สุดด้วยความช่วยเหลือจากพระเอกหม่าเฉียงและสาวชาวทิเบตจัวหม่าทำให้ปกป้องสมบัติและหยุดองค์กรขโมยสมบัติไว้ได้ ระหว่างการเดินทางในครั้งนี้ยังได้เข้าใจทัศนคติของเกซาร์ในการแสวงหาสันติภาพและการต่อต้านสงคราม ในขณะเดียวกันยังได้รับเบาะแสสำคัญเกี่ยวกับชัมบาลาและเริ่มการเดินทางทางโบราณคดีครั้งใหม่ขึ้น
